Thing is it changes weekly, but if you're looking at it right now you'd probably fancy Leicester to do again what they did last season. They finish with 3 tough games too, plus as said cup distractions.

Re: Race for the top 4
Could really do with Liverpool turning round the second leg against Madrid being in Europe will make it much harder, I’d say less so for Chelsea as they’ve got such a massive squad. Also would be very happy for Leicester to win the semi next week nothing like a cup final to take your eye off the ball

Re: Race for the top 4
Also, our games against Chelsea and Everton are at home.

We have the second best home record in the league this year.

Not sure if it means much with no fans but feels me with a bit of confidence

Re: Race for the top 4
I said with 12 games to go we’d need 7 wins and a couple of draws so 23points. We’ve got 10 from the first 5. Still think that’ll be enough if we can win 4 and draw 1 definitely if one of the wins is against Chelsea
Just pray that the injuries aren’t what decided it. I’d be worried if Nobes is out that will mean playing somebody out of position or a kid. If you are going to stick Coventry in next week is the place to do that as they are pony in midfield and it’s a game where we may have more of the ball

Re: Race for the top 4
4th would be amazing.

The way Bowen and Lingard looked today if they stay fit then we have goals.

Rice and Ogbonna needed back ASAP.

Next season would be a bit of a laugh with a threadbare squad and champions league football but these opportunities come round once in a blue moon.

Would love to fuck off the sky sports team and scrape into that top 4.

Any type of European footie next year would be great. Anything less would be disappointing considering how good they have all been.

its just hard to see us above Chelsea and Dippers. We will have to beat Chelsea along the way for sure. If anything I could see Leicester dipping out with those last three games

Re: Race for the top 4
I predict we will end up 5th behind the bin dippers and Chelsea cunts.

Would be fantastic if we can actually finish in the top 4.

Re: Race for the top 4
Whatever happens its nice to be up the other end and dreaming. Reckon definite 15 which puts on 67 ( incredible) but nick a win or extra draw we are firmly in the mix. This where we need us lot in the grounds and actually help the team for once.

Re: Race for the top 4
It’s going to be hard to imagine us getting top 4 to be honest with Liverpool Chelsea and Spuds breathing down out neck and the season catching up with us injury wise. I think we need to win 2 and draw one of Leicester Chelsea and Everton and not lose any games we should otherwise be winning. Trips to Newcastle and Brighton will be tough tests, hopefully west brom will be down already when we go there. We could also certainly do with more weekends results like the one just passed.

Re: Race for the top 4
I reckon we need to beat Leicester, draw with Chelsea, draw with Everton, and win the rest, with at most one more defeat to have a chance.

Lets for argument sake say we lose to Brighton who are a bit of a bogey side:

W, W, D, W, D, L, W, W

17 more points, would put us on 69 points. Top four points finish on average (last 10 seasons) is 71.3 points, and the lowest it's been in that time is 66 points.

Seems unlikely, but who knows in this season. Top 6 seems more realistic with the average in he last 10 seasons for 6th at 64 points.

Re: Race for the top 4
Game management with each game as it comes, something Moyes is very good at.

Get towards the leics game and see who is fit and adapt, what is clear is that with Noble in for Rice, the team looks stronger with a back 5 over a back 4

Re: Race for the top 4
In the Bilic season we had fifty points after thirty games and were lying fifth.

So here we are fourth with fifty two points, all to play for, but with depleted playing resources.

ParadiseLost 4:29 Tue Apr 6
Re: Race for the top 4
We also need to remember that some of those we are in contention with still are in the European cups. Yes Liverpool might get a second wind but the push for fourth place or the Champions league? Same for Chelsea. Man U or Arsenal in the Europa as well. Leicester and Chelsea in the FA Cup still. Even Spurs in the Carabao cup. All fixtures, all opportunities to pick up injuries. We’ve got one job to do.

Re: Race for the top 4
Without Rice and Antonio we will struggle to keep up our points per game ratio over our last eight games.

Re: Race for the top 4
To have any chance of clinching 4th place, I think we will need to win at least 5 from 8 games. And 2 of those 5 games will need to be against Chelsea and Everton.

Leicester, Newcastle, Chelsea, Burnley, Everton, Brighton, West Brom, Southampton.

the exile 12:37 Tue Apr 6
Re: Race for the top 4
I think it is almost certain that Liverpool will make the top 4 but I fancy Leicester to drop out late - look at their last three fixtures compared to ours - they have Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs. Absolutely vital to beat them on Sunday and put pressure on them.
